Churachandpur, October 07 2009:
Kuki Students' Organisation, Churachandpur District has served an ultimatum to all staffs of the EE, PWD Churachandpur division to attend their respective offices within a week while warning to pull up the officials and staffs if the request is not heeded.
The KSO/CCPur has, while conducting a surprise visit to the PWD office, ferreted that more than 80% of the office staffs including the Executive Engineer have been not attending office since the last two years, according to a statement issued by the general secretary of KSO, CCPur, S Lamminlun.
The students' body has also found that the rooms of the office of the PWD/CCPur are frequently used for gambling, and by observing the office premises, it bears a resemblance to a cowshed, the KSO statement revealed.
Conveying skepticism that the 'style' would send wrong signal among the government departments of the district, the statement observed that the trend would become a setback to the establishment of all the Government institutions located in the District.
Strongly denouncing the non-functioning of the office of the Executive Engineer, CCPur Division PWD, the students' body serves an ultimatum to all the office staffs to start attending the office within one week.
"If this plea is unkempt or underestimated and if it is not fulfilled within the stipulated time, the KSO/CCPur would take its own course of action which the concerned staffs would take their own risk and would be responsible for the consequences," it admonishes.
