Imphal, November 30 2010:
The Council of Teachers' Association (COTA) today claimed that more teachers' bodies are pouring supports to their 16 days old cease work strike.
In Chandel district also a sub-committee of the COTA has been formed to launch intensify forms of stir as part of support to the demand for in toto adaptation of the revised sixth pay bands by the school teachers.
The Ukhrul District Teachers' Welfare Association (UDTWA), while reiterating that the body is extending full support to the ongoing cease work strike condemned the state government for delaying in the issue of order for payment of the revised sixth pay bands.
Members of the body have been on cease work strike since November 15, the day on which COTA started the cease work stir and are getting ready for an intensified form of agitation.
Any untoward incident arising out of the incident will be the sole responsibility of the state government, UDTWA cautions the state government in a statement.
Meanwhile, COTA sticking to their demand justify that that the cease work strike of the teachers demanding payment of sixth pay bands was not only for the betterment of teaching community but also for the society and of course for the improvement of the education status in the state.
State government is seemed to be taking interest in the implementation of schemes related with the improvement of education.
But they are not interested in addressing grievances of the teachers, the statement lamented.
