Security forces have arrested seven activists of NSCN (IM) and KYKL outfits from different places besides nabbing two individuals from whom banned wild life products have been reportedly recovered in the past 48 hours.
According to a statement of SSP (Thoubal) clay Khongsai issued today, district police commandos deployed for frisking and checking duty rounded up four overground workers of KYKL from Charangpat Mamang Leikai area at around 1.30 pm of november 29 .
The arrested persons have been identified as Laishram Bhani Devi (40) w/o L Raghu Singh and Oinam Shanti Devi (38) w/o O Ibohal Singh of Heirok Pt-I, Thingujam Sobashini Devi (47) w/o Th Dilip Singh of Charangpat Mamang leikai and Thangjam Roma Devi (40) w/o Th Surchandra Singh of Heirok Pt-II.

An amount of Rs 2.80 lakhs has been recovered from the possession of L Bhani Devi, the SSP added.
On the otherhand, three NSCN (IM) cadres were apprehended from Ukhrul town where troops of 17 Assam Rifles of 165 TA Bn launched joint operation in the early hours today.
A PRO IGAR (S) release identified the arrested trio as Kaping Luikham (24) s/o David Luikham of Kongkan (Kamjong), Ephrem AS (30) s/o Mayami As of Marao (Litan) and Ramreiyo Kapai (29) s/o Ruichumbao of Hundung.
One 9 mm pistol with six live rounds, 90 detonators and 2.5 kgs high explosives with 5 metre fuse have been listed as items recovered from the arrested persons, who have been handed over to Porompat police station.
Meanwhile, 55 kgs of pangolin shells, 1 kg leopard skin and two leopard skulls have been seized by troops of 42 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector from two individuals namely Lulun Zou (30) s/o Vaipau Zou of Zou Colony and Ginlen Zou (24) s/o Lelen Zou of Singhou in Churachandpur, who were travelling in a Tata Sumo along NH-39 on November 29 .
The PRO release said the wildlife products were detected upon checking of the vehicle (MN06L/3221) at around 3 pm and that both the individuals along with the seized items have been handed over to Imphal police station and Forest Department, Imphal respectively.
Ganja worth Rs 1 crore seized: Troops of 5 Assam rifles under the aegis of Red Shield Division recovered about 3500 kgs of grade-I ganja from an unregistered Tata 709 truck on the Manipur-Nagaland border near Mao gate in Senapati district, a PIB (DW) release said adding that a white Maruti Gypsy involved in the ganja peddling has also been recovered in the operation.
based on specific information a well planned search operation was launched that led to recovery of the contraband ganja in compressed form being smuggled into Nagaland, the release maintained and said that occupants of the vehicles managed to escape on seeing the security force column.
The seized consignment estimated to worth about Rs 1.5 crores in the Indian market has been handed over to the regional Director NE, Narcotics Control Bureau at Imphal for further disposal.
