The AMADA has nabbed two liquor dealers along with 32 litres of local liquor yesterday around 7pm from Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai, according to a statement issued by the deputy drive secretary of AMADA drive committee, Kh (O) Sophia Leima.
The apprehended persons were Thounaojam Loken @ Lokeshore (57) and Ningthoujam Madhop (63).They were handed over to their family members after counseling them, it added.
Meanwhile, CADA has also nabbed eight liquor sellers during a drive conducted at Pheidinga, Koirengei, Sangakpham, Andro Parking and Old Lambulane on July 17, assistant publicity secretary of CADA, T Rabi stated in a statement.
Along with the apprehended liquor dealers, several materials used in brewing liquor were also seized.
The statement stated that 112 litres of local liquor, one bucket ful of Atingba (rice beer), seven jugs, one plastic bucket, one Tekchao, 1 tub, one pot, and several glasses were seized from the individuals.
The apprehended persons were W Nabachandra (65), H Loken (56), L Tomba (40), H pakpi (60), Makhu Mao (40), E Manao (45), Rakshi Gangmei (22) and K Loidang, according to the statement.
