Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Employees' Union has threatened to take up series of agitation if the state government fails to release their salaries by November 15 .
According to the Union, some six months salaries are pending.
While informing that the ICDS employees union had decided to go on agitation from Monday but the assurance given by the comissioner and the director of the department this morning to the union in a meeting had prompted te union to set the deadline to give the salaries by November 15, said the ICDS employees body general secretary.
Criticizing the government for being bias towards the employees of ICDS, the secretary stated that the non-ICDS employees in the social welfare department have been receiving their salaries regularly.
"Because of this the All Manipur ICDS Employees' Union was formed on October 7 at Gandhi Memorial Hall, Imphal," stated Nirvarani.
She further informed that about 600 workers including D.P.O, S.P.O, S.A.,L.D.C, Anganwadi workers and helpers along with the superintendent have not received salaries since April this year.
Meanwhile, the employees body informed that a general body meeting would be held incase they do not receive any positive response from the government by the deadline and also would undergo several agitations.
However, they would continue with their normal duty till November 15 .
