Taking serious note of the unrestrained killing of people by the security forces in what said to be in encounter after alleged abducted them, Working Group of Meira Paibi movement and Ching Tam Apunba Nupi Lup today asked the state chief minister 'will he be able to look after the grievances of the widows of those killed people.
Speaking at street corner meeting at Pallel Bazar in Chandel today as a part of its ongoing poster campaign, representatives of the meira paibis said that security forces are killing people after picking up them in alleged encounter without day break and government is remaining silent without taking up any action to check this unrestrained killing.
By the activities of the security forces, many women become widows.
In such situation what has done by O Ibobi as chief minister of the state, they observed asking will he can solve the problems confronting by the widows.
Chingnu Zou advisor of the Ching-tam Apunba Nupi Lup speaking at the street corner meeting expressed concern over the current trend of spate of killing people by the security forces, women and mothers would not lead a life of peace.
They could not remain in the home when men go out for earning livelihood from home.
The number women who lost their husband and children are on the raise day by day but no let up to the spate killing of people by the security forces, she said.
Government is still remaining silent without taking up any kind of step to control such type of killing people.
Will Ibobi as chief minister able to look after them and fill up the vacant place of these widows, she asked adding that women have no other means but to storm the chief minister bungalow.
L Memchoubi, convener of the working group observed that now in the spate of killing there has no place for launching agitation by forming JAC as the JAC in collusion with the local MLA stop the agitation by taking ex-gratia.
It becomes a trend in the state.
After the street corner meeting, the participating women conducted poster campaign at Pallel Bazar.
