Imphal, February 23 2012:
The All Manipur Government Graduate Teachers Association (AMGGTA), a state level association of the Graduate Teachers of the state, has committed itself to proper maintenance of the current 2012 academic session.
Addressing media persons in this regard at Manipur Press Club here today, General Secretary of AMGGTA N Devan said that with commencement of academic session, 2012 since February 1, the Association has been lending full cooperation in all the policies and programmes taken up by the Education (S) Department in all the full-fledged government schools, Junior High Schools and Secondary Schools, and trying it's level best to let the students digest and make them understand of what is being taught.
The AMGGTA is also planning to make a visit to all the government schools along with the respective AIs, DIs and ZEOs with due approval of the Director of Education Valley and Hill and the Director of Education (S), he informed.
Devan pointed out that the main problem is getting the feedback of the daily classes taken by the teachers concerned through interaction with the Headmasters, Asst Headmasters, Principals and Vice Principals.
Citing an order issued by the authority to assign the post of administrator of Kebol High School to an Assistant Teacher, even though there is one Assistant Headmistress in the school, Devan observed that such discrepancies posed a challenge to the efforts being taken up by the Association.
This is a serious issue which warrants immediate attention of the government for saving the school from losing its academic atmosphere, he added.
