AMSU warns some school authorities on excess fees levying

Claiming that information has been received about some school authorities levying fees in excess of the amount agreed between AMSU and school representatives, the student body asked the recalcitrant schools to return the excess amount failing which school shutdown movement would be launched.
speaking to newspersons today, AMSU secretary general N Dipanjit said on January 29 a joint meeting of private school founders/administrators and AMSU had agreed on reducing the school fee from the amount levied in the previous sessions.
However, despite the agreement some private schools are not complying with the agreed terms with regard to the fee, maintained Dipanjit while asking all concerned to return the excess amount for the student body resorting to school closure movement for defying the agreed terms cannot be ruled out.
He also reminded that the joint meeting agreed on fixing admission fee from pre-nursery to KG classes at Rs 1000 and Rs 250 as tuition while admission fee and tuition fee would be Rs 1500 and Rs 300 respectively for classes I to V.From classes VI to X the amounts would be Rs 2000 admission fee and Rs 350 tuition fee, he added.
