Imphal, February 23 2012:
While law enforcing agencies, including Transport Department and traffic personnel are vigorously enforcing the 'no entry' rule for motor vehicles at commercial hubs of the capital city, the said restriction is set to force many students of Nirmala Bas High School to remain idle at home as van service providers have decided to cease service with immediate effect.
Contending that the recently announced 'pedestrian only' zones at market places of the city is causing great inconveniences to those involved in the transportation of school students, Nirmala Bas High School Van Service Welfare Association has announced that its members would cease service from February 24 onwards till the school authority and the Government sort out the matter.
The Association, in a statement, also conveyed to the parents/guardians to bear the inconveniences likely to cause them as a consequence of the service stoppage.
