20 hurt in mishap at Imphal-Sugnu road

Imphal, February 23 2012:
At least 20 people sustained injuries when a mini-bus met with an accident on Imphal-Sugnu road between Umathel and Wangoo Lamkhai at about 1 pm today.
According to sources, the passenger heading to Sugnu from Imphal skidded and turned over twice on the road side due to steering failure.
Of the injured victims, condition of one Abujam Arunkumar (18) of Pangaltabi Mayai Leikai is said be serious and his left leg is likely to be amputated.
He is currently undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital.
Arunkumar was returning home after giving Class XII examination at Kakching Khunnou College when the bus he was travelling in met with accident.
Fellow examinee Ningthoujam Naoba (18) of Pangaltabi Makha Leikai also sustained grievous injuries.
He has been admitted in RIMS.
Conditions of Leishangthem Ibotomba (42) and his three year old son Dharma are also said to be serious.
They are undergoing treatment at RIMS.
Other victims have been admitted in a hospital at Kakching.
