Imphal, July 27:
Disclosing that Thunder Kuki, his wife and four other associates were killed by a team of KLA led by Timothy Kuki after a fierce gun battle on July 24, the KLA/KLO has asked the 19 Assam Rifles and KNA/KNO to refrain from involving themselves in the internal crisis of KLA/KLO.
A statement issued by KLA/KLO Information and Publicity Secretary Malsawm Kuki informed that Paolen Touthang alias Thunder Kuki was the prime accused in slaying Commander-in-Chief Letkholun Khongsai and other five other associates in a coup.
At that time Thunder Kuki had already been ousted from the outfit.
Even though Paolen Touthang alias Thunder Kuki who led the coup in May 29 this year and all his accomplices were served notice to surrender to the central committee of KLA/KLO, he not only ignored the summon but also claimed to be the leader/C-in-C of the outfit.
For their anti-party activities, Thunder Kuki and his accomplices were killed during an operation undertaken by KLA under the command of Timothy Kuki on July 24.Top ranking associates of Thunder Kuki were also appre-hended after the operation and are now being kept in the outfit's custody for further interrogation, disclosed Malsawm Kuki.
While expressing surprise at the deep interest of 19 AR and KNA/KNO in the internal crisis of KLA/KLO, Malsawm Kuki clarified that there is no more crisis in the KLA/KLO after the July 24 incident and that stability has returned to the organisation.
