Newly elected president of the All India Federation of Master Printers' RN Dutta was felicitated at Manipur Press Club today.
Speaking on the occasion, RN Dutta proposed that the age old cultural and social interactions between Assam and Manipur be diversified to sharing industrial expertise as well.
RN Dutta, a native of Assam, is the first person from the North East region to head the elite private printing body of India.
To boost printing technology in Manipur, he suggested that the next governing council meeting be organised by the All Manipur Printing Technologists Association at Imphal next year.
AMPTA president Th Sunil who presided the function informed that a proposal for setting up a printing institute in Manipur has been forwarded to concerned offices in New Delhi.
