The Kuki Students' Organisation, Sangaikot block has strongly condemned the atrocities committed by troops of 21 AR to the villagers Dongjang Christian village, Sangaikot block, Churachandpur district.
According to a press release issued by the student body, six villagers including the chief were beaten by the AR troops without any reasons on September 24 .
Because of the physical assault by AR personnel, village chief Thongkholun Baite had his ankle fractured.
The KSO-SB also appealed to the security forces concerned to compensate the damage done.
The student body also condemned the reported act of firing inside the house of the village chief by one UG group.
It further appealed to UG groups not to intimidate innocent villagers.
In another press release, the Makhao Area Women Welfare Association has appealed to the authority concerned to pay medical bills for those injured victims.
It also conveyed gratitude to all those who stood by the villagers during the September 24 incident when one UG group fired at the residence of the village chief followed by merciless thrashing of six innocent villagers including the village chief by personnel of 21 AR.
