Imphal, November 10:
The SFI Manipur State Committee has demanded befitting actions against two officials of the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur for their involvement in faulty appointment of 17 employees in BSEM.
Speaking to reporters today, State secretary of SFI Pari Luwang reminded of the memorandum submitted to the Education Minister on June 10 this year in connection with the issue.
In subsequent developments, BSEM chairman enquired into the faulty appointment of employees and submitted his report on August 26.Later the 17 employees of BSEM were terminated from service by BSEM secretary L Rajmohon on November 4, Pari disclosed.
However, even as the Education Commissioner RK Angousana has ordered a high level enquiry on August 31 and instructed to submit its report within a month, no disciplinary actions of any sort have been initiated against the chief culprits of the faulty appointmentformer chairman of BSEM A Saratkumar and former BSEM secretary Ph Nandakumar.
The 6 LDCs and 11 peons appointed by them in BSEM on contract basis for three months through improper means have already been terminated.
While appreciating the termination of the employees appointed beyond rules, the student body took strong exception to the inaction of the authority concerned against the chief culprits of the faulty appointments.
The SFI secretary also demanded commensurate actions against Assembly Secretary T Zoute and Joint Secretary (Administration) Th Megharaj for appointing one K Mamta as Committee Officer.
K Mamta was never an employee of the Assembly Secretariat, Pari conveyed.
The student body urged for enquiries into these two incidents of faulty appointments by constituting a high power committee.
Pari further cautioned that SFI Manipur State Committee in association with Thadou Students' Association would launch various democratic forms of agitation from November 13 if the State Government fails to initiate necessary measures to fulfil its demands within the deadline set.
