Three children with congenital heart disease who left Imphal on September 9 for Kolkata returned today after successful open heart surgeries at the Mission Hospital, Durgapur (West Bengal), said a rotary club of Imphal release.
The surgeries at the West bengal medical centre is informed to have been conducted at the conveyance of the Club under its 'Heart to Heart Project'.
The three children all two years old have been identified as Oinam Yaiphabi d/o O Ingo of Keibul Lamjao Chingmei, Sougrakpam yaiphaba s/o S Noubi of Konjeng Leikai and Longjam Maipaksana s/o L Yaima of Patsoi Pt-II.
In wishing speedy recovery to the three children and expressing gratitude to all concerned for contributing to the Project that aims at helping children with heart ailments lead a normal and joyful life, the Club further informed that the 'historical project' is a triangular initiative of the Rotary club of Imphal, Rotary Club of Asansol and Mission Hospital, Durgapur.
The Scouts & Guides of Asansol donated blood for all the three operations, it added.
