Maintaining its brilliant form against MPSC, AMOFA, Moirang defeated the police team 4-3 at Moirang today to reach the semi final round of the 10th Winners� Cup football tournament for M Chittamani trophy 2005.AMOFA had won 3-1 against the same outfit in the away match.
The other teams earning a place in the last four stage include SSU, Singjamei and KYC, Churachandpur while YWC, Thambalkhong and NEROCA, Laipham Khunou will play on October 27 to decide which side grab the final semi final berth.
In a match of the tournament being played on home and away basis, YWC was held to a 2-2 draw by KYC, Sadar hills at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium which served as the former�s home ground.
But the match result guaranteed YWC�s place in the quarters.
YWC had defeated the Sadar hills side 3-0 in the away match at Kangpokpi on October 23.In the SSU versus UBSA, Mantak match at SAI RC ground today that served as the home turf for the Singjamei side, the score remained 2-2 but the former advanced to the semi finals on virtue of its 3-0 win at Kakching.
In another match of the tournament played at Kodompokpi - home ground for PYC, Phoudel - the tie against KYC, Churachandpur stretched beyond normal period as the score aggregate after end of regular period remained 2-2.PYC was leading 2-1 when additional period was added in order to break the deadlock following victory of KYC at Public Ground, CCpur by the same margin.
The PYC goals today came through O Bijeshwor (9th) and H Inao (86th) while KYC responded with goals from Khamunthang (13th) and Rosalian (106th).BM Singh trophy: NYTHC, Okram Chuthek and ESU, Wangkhei scored an identical 3-0 win over their respective opponents in today�s league round matches of the 6th Winners� Cup football tournament for BM Singh Trophy 2005 being played at ESU ground.
K Sandyarani�s ninth and 68th minute goals and one from K Dhanapati in the 29th ensured the easy win for the Okram Chuthek girls against UPSA, Kha-Potshangbam while I Prameshwori (9th), N Naobi (32nd) and Ch Sanathoi (41st) scored for ESU�s 3-0 rout of NISA, Thangmeiband.
