Imphal, November 22: Imphal East District police arrested a cadre of UNLF today at around 9 am.

In a statement issued by the S P of Imphal East, it informed that the cadre identified as Ningthoujam Bijoy alias Ingobi (24 ) s/o of N Irabot of Kongpal Kongkham Leikai was nabbed from Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak crossing along with Rs 20,000 during frisking and checking undertaken based on specific information.

Preliminary interrogation has revealed that Bijoy joined the outfit in March 2005 through one SS Corpl L Rameshor alias Pakhangba of Khurai Lairikyengbam Leikai of UNLF and is presently working in the finance section of the outfit under one SS Corpl Zilla alias Kishorjit of Salanthong, added the statement.

Meanwhile Imphal West police commandos have arrested two KCP (Lamphel) cadres identified as Thoudam Ranjit (32) s/o Th Rajmani of Kanto Khullen and Ngasepam Achouba (38 years) s/o (L) Ng Tombi of Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai today at around 5:30 a m from Lamphel Sana Keithel near Shanti Hospital.

One 9 mm pistol containing three live rounds were recovered from the possession of Ranjit, informed a press note issued by the S P of Imphal West.
