Imphal, November 22:
All Manipur Bar Assn (AMBA) president Khaidem Mani has stated that the protest against the unfair treatment meted out to the Manipur team in the quarter-final match of the Santosh trophy played against Goa would have been more successful if All Manipur Football Assn (AMFA) had taken recourse to legal action.
Addressing a press conference here at Imphal today, Mani said AMBA is also strongly objected to the misconduct of the presiding referee which ultimately led to the exit of Manipur from the tournament.
However, the ongoing protest agitation of the people would have been more meaningful had AMFA) consulted with the legal experts and lodged complaint to the Civil Court of Kerela and even with the Kerela High Court.
In that case, the remaining matches of the tournament could have been even stalled, he said.
Demanding to know whether there is a legal advisory board of AMFA or not, Mani lamented why the board, if there is one, has been keeping quite over the matter.
