Imphal, November 24: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (Autonomous) while clarifying on non implementation of SSA scheme in Manipur alleged that SCERT inspite of being entrusted with the scheme implementation by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the State Government has been trying to deprive of its right as the nodal agency of SSA by floating another body registered as Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan State Mission Authority.

Further mentioning that the SSA scheme had been implemented since 2000 in other states the SCERT, in a statement described as unfortunate on people of the State being denied benefits from the said scheme that remains unimplemented till date in Manipur.

Secretary of HRD Ministry, SC Tripthe through an official intimation (September 17 2002) authorised SCERT (A) as the nodal agency of SSA project in Manipur, it maintained while contending that even Chief Minister O Ibobi had apprised HRD Ministry to release project fund to SCERT (A).
