Pungro, November 24: For the first time, the State BJP Ministers and Legislators along with Officials from Medical and Transport Departments and huge BJP party functionaries have paid a two-day visit from November 22 to 23 in Kiphire-Pungro areas, inaugurating various health centers, new bus service, besides addressing publics.

During their visits in the district, State Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr TM Lotha inspected the Kiphire District Hospital and its ongoing and two-storied construction.

He also inaugurated Primary Health Center in Moya and CHC in Pungro.

The MO of the Kiphire District Hospital also narrated various problems facing.

He said there is shortage of staffs, vehicles, and other equipments like a generator and a portable x-ray machine, etc.

A public memorandum in connection with the Hospital and other heal centers in the district was also submitted to the Minister.

The Minister while committing to provide some of the urgent equipments and vehicles said shortage of staffs in hospitals in the State was not only for this one (hospital).

�In Nagaland, we only give Health Sub-Centers in name but no post creation was there,� he stated.

�That is why we see often shortage of staffs and most of the CHCs are running without doctors�.

He however assured to provide urgent requirements for the hospitals within a month�s time.

He asserted that the Government would not be able to provide everything but said whatever Government provides should be properly taken care of.

�This is yours,� he told the staffs and people of the district.

Dr Lotha also assured the people in Moya and Pungro, where he served as Medical Officer from 1977 and 1978, to provide all the necessary staffs and other requirements for newly inaugurated PHC and CHC within a month�s time.

The Minister recalled how he served as Medical Officer in Pungro 27 years ago without proper infrastructures and communication facilities.

He however expressed his happiness on seeing many changes taking place now and the coming up of new Health Centers in the areas.

He hoped that with the inauguration of PHC, CHC in the Pungro Sub-Division areas, many would now get relief of traveling long distances.

Transport Minister Imtilemba also inaugurated Pungro-Kiphire new bus service on Wednesday in Pungro.

He flagged off the new bus of Pungro-Kiphire.

While expressing his happiness, the Minister urged the publics of Pungro to extend their cooperation in the new bus service.

State BJP President and MLA MC Konyak, BJP MLA from Kiphire-Pungro Torecho, Officials from Medical and Transports departments, GBs, Chairman and Members of Kiphire Town Council, Official from the district administration, huge publics attended all the programs.
