Laxmi Rajkumari who did Human Resource Development Academy, Ghari proud by bagging the first position in the HSE 2005, attributes her success to hard work, guidance and support given by her teachers and parents and above all thanked the Almighty.
Hailing from Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal, Laxmi is the eldest daughter of Dr K Lenin, assistant Prof (RIMS) Psychiatry Dept and Dr Potshangbam Binata Devi an Eye Specialist at JN Hospital.
In an interaction with The Sangai Express today, Laxmi aiming to follow in her father's footsteps said that she usually gets up at 5 am and go through the textbooks to grasp ideas of those some portions missed by the teacher, before leaving for school at 8.15 am.
Returning from school, she attends medical coaching class at Keishampat only to return home at 7.30.She further informed her night studies continues till 12.30 am daily.
On being questioned why she prefers medical profession as her aim in life, the young girl with an air of confidence said that the profession is a very honourable profession respected by everyone.
Chipping in, Dr Lenin said that he selected HRD Academy for his daughter's studies after assessing the cordial relations between the students and the teachers as well as the conduct of its well disciplined students.
On the otherhand, Angom Syria Chanu, a brilliant and promising student of Shree Digambar Jain Mahabir Hr Sec School Paona Bazar who bagged the first position in Commerce stream of the examination predictably preferred pursuing further studies in her favourite subject - commerce as she aspires to be a Chartered Accountant.
Syria is the last of seven siblings of Angom ongbi Ngangbiton Devi and (L) A Ibotomba of Nongmeibung.
Chatting with The Sangai Express, she disclosed of heading to New Delhi for further studies and pursue her dreams which is to become a Chartered Accountant.
