Imphal, May 15: Thirteen distinguished personalities in the field of art, culture and literature were awarded during the award distribution function of the Manipur Sahitya Parishad at JNMDA Hall today.

The function was organised in connection with the observation of the 70th foundation anniversary of Manipur Sahitya Parishad.

Governor Dr Ss Sidhu and Manipur Sahitya Parishad president N Kunjamohan attended the function as the chief guest and president respectively.

The personalities who were confered the award, including some posthumously are Nongthombam Biren Singh (Kabi Ratana), S Dhabal Singh (Sahitya Bhusan), (L) RK Madhubir (Kaviya Bhusan), (L) RK Chandrajitsana (Chitrakala Bhusan), Devjani Chalina (Nitriya Ratana), Nameirakpam ongbi Ebeni Devi (Sangeet Ratana), Senjam Kameshor Singh (Sangeet Bhusan), Hijam Gourasing Singh (Wadiya Bhusan), Arambam Lokendro Singh (Natriya Bhusan) and Gurumayum Sana Sharma (Kalla Bhusan).

Nganbam Yaima Singh was aso awarded the Kshetri Nawan award which carried a cash prize of Rs 2000 while Thangjam Ibopishak got the Ashangbam Minaketan Singh Memorial Award which carried a cash prize of Rs 15,000.Raghu Leishangthem was awarded the Telem Abir Memorial Award with a cash prize of Rs 5000.
