The Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) emerged champion as the 4th GK Memorial Men's Open Hockey Tournament, 2010 organised by the Imphal East District Hockey Association under the GK Memorial Trust, Wangkhei concluded at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium.
MPSC beat COSMO, Wangkhei 7-0 in the final match played today to win the tournament.
MLA, Th Nandakiswar (Tayai), H Vikramjit, Managing Director, HVS Construction Materials Pvt Ltd attended the closing function as chief guest and guest of honour.
President, Hockey Manipur, N Momon presided over the function.
Winning team MPSC was awarded a cash prize of Rs 20,000 along with a trophy.
COSMO, Wangkhei who won the second position was awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000 along with a trophy.
YCIC bagged the third place and was awarded a Rs 5,000 cash prize.
SSA was declared best disciplined team which carries a cash prize of Rs 2000 .
M Amson of SYUC was adjusted the best goalkeeper's title and was awarded a cash prize of Rs 1000 along with a trophy.
Th Romesh of MPSC won the title of best player of the tournament.
Th Birjit of MPSC bagged best player of the final match's title.
SYUC was honoured with the best promising team's title.
The final match played today was dominated by MPSC throughout the match.
P Adeva of MPSC scored the first goal of his team in the 23rd minute of the match.
S Tarun scored the second goal in the 28th minute, O Boniyam and P Priyokumar scored the third and fourth goals in the 39th and 42nd minutes of the match.
Th Birjit scored three goals in the 46th, 61st and 65th minutes of the match.
On the other hand no player of COSMO could score a single goal against MPSC.
