Imphal, December 05 2010:
A week long HIV/AIDS awareness programme conducted by 357 Field Hospital, under the aegis of 57 Mountain Division from November 29 for the benefit of troops and civilians residing in villages around Leimakhong concluded yesterday.
During the campaign commenced on Nov 29 with a health education followed by screening of educational film on AIDS.
A health kiosk and exhibition along with poster campaign was also organized on World AIDS Day.
On the same day quiz and essay competition was conducted at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Leimakhong to raise AIDS awareness among the students.
Three medical cum dental screening camps were organized for residents of Dwarika & P Molding villages and Leimakhong market on Nov 29, Dec 2 and Dec 4 respectively.
The camps were run by medical officers including lady doctor who provided consultation, basic lab investigations and distributed free medicines to the patients.
This gesture of 357 Field Hospital, in organizing the health camp and raising awareness on HIV/AIDS amongst the local population, was highly appreciated.
