Imphal, December 05 2010:
State DGP, Y Joykumar today announced that he will extend all assistance to 50 children from poor and needy families in Arong and Nongmaikhong areas.
The assistance will be for studies and other needed help.
He announced this while distributing blankets and monetary aid to the poor and old people of Lamboikhongnangkhong and Iroishemba in a simple function held today.
He assured giving all and any assistance to 20 poor and needy children of the areas.
He also distributed blankets to the eldely people at the function organised jointly by the United Friends Library and Club, Lamboikhongnangkhong and Iroishemba Youth Development Club.
Yumnam (O) Ibempishak, wife of DGP Joykumar was also present at the function.

Blankets and monetary aid were distributed to 106 poor and elderly people out of which 44 were from Lamboikhongnangkhong and the rest 62 from Iroishemba village.
In a speech, Joykumar said that the real joy lies in helping others.
He had already distributed blankets and monetary aid to the poor in Waikhong.
He is also planning to distribute such aid to the people of Arong Nongmaikhong, Kumbi and other remote villages in the state.
In his speech, he recalled bringing a helpless mother and daughter from Waikhong.
They now live in his residence and he has been looking after them till date.
The young girl has done well in her studies and she is the topper of her class. Expressing his desire to help destitute children deprived of education due to poverty, he asked the villagers of Lamboikhongnangkhong and Iroishemba to make a list of such children to be given to him.
He clearly instructed not to include children of rich families in the list.
Kh Heramani, President, Iroishemba Youth Development Club expressed gratitude to the DGP for his gesture of kindness towards the poor.
During the visit, he also distributed blankets and monetary assistants to the poor and needy specially to the older persons.
