Imphal, January 27:
Southern Sporting Union (SSU) Singjamei has gone one match ahead of its rival in the ongoing 10th M Chittamani Memorial Winners Cup played on home and away basis under the aegis of All Manipur Football Association.
In today's first leg final match played at ESU \ground as the home ground of SSU, the Singjamei side beat YWC Thambalkhong by a soliatry goal.
The lone goal was scored by Tiken largely as a result of defensive lapse.
Tiken took advantage of the misunderstanding between defenders David Kamson and Sharan to a make powerful attempt at the goal of YWC.
The ball deflected from the hands of YWC keeper and found Tiken again with no defender to clear away.
This time Tiken made no mistake to rattle the rivals net.
The second leg of the final match will be played at the same venue on January 29 as the homeground of YWC.
A draw would ensure the Winners' Cup for SSU while it is a must win situation for YWC, that too with a score of two goals difference.
