Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC) would be organising a five-day long Science Motivation programme for talented students of high and higher secondary schools in Manipur from February 21 to 25 at Imphal.
The programme is catalysed and supported by NCSTC, DST, Government of India.
The programme was earlier scheduled to be held during January 31-February 4, 2006 but postponed due to unavoidable circumstances.
The programme aims at giving the participants an exposure to the world of science and motivating them to take up science as career.
The five-day long programme would include visit to laboratory, face to face interaction with scientists, popular science talks, science experiments/science behind miracles, field visit, science elocution competition on science topics, etc..
All the participants would camp together during Feb 21 to 25 and they would be provided food, accommodation, etc.
Interested schools are informed to submit nominations of 4 best students of class IX along with photographs to be accompanied by one science teacher to the office of MASTEC on or before Feb 14.Seats are limited and selection will be done on Feb 17 for which the student team of each school are required to speak on a science topic for 6 minutes during the selection test to be conducted in the office chamber of Executive Director, MASTEC at 10.30 am.
The selection will be purely based on the performance of the presentation made by the students teams.
