Orissa and West Bengal won their respective first quarter final league match of the 18th Senior Women's National Football Championship 2009-10 played today at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Imphal.
The first match today was played between Orissa and Assam.
Orissa beat Assam 8-0 to win the maktch.
The first half of the match concluded 3-0 in favour of Orissa.
In the second half Orissa successfully added another five goals and won the match by 8-0.The first goal of the match was scored by Pinky Bompal Maga.
She later scored another three goals.
Sradhanjali Sumantray scored two goals.
Sasmita Mallick and Suprabha Sumal scored one goal each.
On the other hand Assam could not scored a single goal against Orissa and the match concluded with Orissa as winner.
Later in the second match, West Bengal beat Haryana 1-0 after playing a keenly contested match.
Both teams displayed a real tough fight against one another throughout the match.
However lack of better coordination among the players of Haryana in the first half of the match resulted to their loss.
The solitary goal of West Bengal was scored by Sujata Kar in the 15th minute of the match.
With one goal ahead of them, Haryana tried their best to equalise the score throughout the entire match.
But all their hard efforts went into vain when they failed to strike their equaliser against West Bengal till the end of the match.
