Imphal, January 19, 2011:
umping onto the bandwagon of boycott Republic Day call, the KCP (MC) today said that the people of Manipur have no reason to join the festival and to make it more effective, the outfit has also decided to clamp curfew from 12 midnight of January 25 till 8 pm of the next day.
Accusing the Government of India of systematically keeping the people under shackles by imposing various draconian Acts like the AFSPA, NSA, POTA and TADA, the outfit in a statement issued by its information and public relations department under the name of Yaiphaba, said that Manipur has always been treated as a fringe State, existing solely to safeguard the security of India.
The imposition of PAP is nothing but a sign of open discrimination.
Such policies are in line with subjecting the people to physical as well as psychological harassment.
Ever since Manipur became a part of India in 1949, even the most basic of needs such as clean drinking water, power supply have been denied to the people, alleged the outfit.
