A social worker has relieved drinking water problem of villagers of Poirou Tangkhul village of Imphal east district under Keirao Kendra by installing two hand pumps.
The village having a round 400 population with around 50 households and located only around 25 km from Imphal on the east have been facing problem in fetching drinking water for a long time.
Social worker N Ibotomba installed the two hand pumps, one at Hayairok Lampak and Porou Mamang Leikai with his own effort and handed over to the villagers today in a function held at the village.
Speaking on the occasion, president of the Poirou New Raising Youth Club, Ringphamei Tangkhul said that even though the village located not so far away from the state capital, Imphal, no shadow of development is seen taken up by the government authority till date.
