A two-day IGNCA International Festival of Dance which would be participated by dancers from South East Asian Countries like Thailand, Cambodia, Japan etc.
will be held on February 27 and 28 next.
The festival is to be organised as part of the cultural dialogue with India and South East Asian Countries under country�s Look East Policy, said general coordinator.
Dr Lokendro Arambam of the IGNCA International between North East India and South East Asia today in a press conference held at Imphal hotel.
The festival is organising to strengthen the relationship among other countries and it will be held in five cities, Guwahati, Shillong, Agartala, Dimapur and Imphal in series, he said.
Not only cultural dance troupes from South East Asian Countries like Thailand, Cambodia, Bali and Java, eight troupes from the North Eastern States of India will also take part in the two day long festival to be held at JN Dance Academy, Imphal.
The inaugural function of the festival will be graced by Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, Dr Sapam Dhananjoy as chief guest.
Former VC of the Rajiv Gandhi University and vice chairman of the organising committee prof AC Bhagawati will preside over the function.
On the first day of the festival, dances of Thailand, Bali, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and Sikkim will be staged, Lokendro said.
