Amidst continuing pledges to support poll boycott call representative of 13 women bodies of Imphal West said that there is no ban upon the public to exercise their franchise urging the electorates to select only the person who could deliver the goods and fulfill the aspirations of the masses.
Talking to media-persons the women leaders expressed that an elected leader should be bold enough to confront the Centre on issues pertaining to human rights violation in Manipur, demand removal of black laws, lift Disturbed Area tag and convey voices of the masses to shift Assam Rifles from Kangla.
Distancing themselves from any poll related ban or restrictions they mooted that efforts should be made by those in power to remove the draconian laws from Manipur.
Presidents and secretaries of Kanglamei, Women Action Committee, Takhellambam Leikai Haorokchambi Apunba Nupi Lup, Nganappithong Mapal Nupi Lup, Apunba Imasingee Punshi Amadi Sintha Kanba Lup (Soibam Leikai), Kwakeithel Mayai Koibi Chabungbam Leikai Meira Lup, Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai Chaokhat Thourang Nupi Lup, Mayai Koibi Mamang Leikai Nupi Lup, Liwa Ideal Women's Association (Liwa Road), Nongdol Lairembi Ema Self Help Group (Sega Road), Konjeng Hajari Leikai Women's Assn, Achanbigei Awang Leikai Meira Lup, Ayangpalli Women's Progressive Organization and Yaipha Thourang Nupi Khunai (Chingamakha Maibam Leirak) were present at the occasion.
