Under the theme of 'Lets march hand in hand to save out society with a new hope, love and trust', All Manipur Anti-Drug Association (AMADA) today presented gifts and distributed eatables to those whose lives have been affected by the menace of drug abuse and other intoxicants as part of its ongoing programmes being organised in connection with of observance of its first anniversary which falls on December 20.The places where the gifts including exercise note books and other eatables have been distributed including Kripa Foundation at Keishampat Irabot Road, Manipur Network of Positive People (MNP+) at Yaiskul, CARE Foundation at Nongpok Ingkhol Brighter Academy Road, Social Awareness Services Organisation (SASO) at RIMS Road, Anouba Mangal at Uripok Kangchup Road and Hands for Peaceful Society (HAPS) at Airport Road Hotel Excellency complex.
The gifts were presented to mostly children and women staying at these places/organisation after their lives have been affected due to the problem of drug and alcoholism.
Talking to mediapersons at the occasion, AMADA volunteers clarified that the main objective of AMADA is not just to launch drive against drug abusers and alcoholics but to make the people understand the harmfulness of drugs and alcoholism and encourage them join hands in fighting the menace.
AMADA has also been organising various awareness programmes and open discussion toward this end.
