The 'Thoubal District JAC (SEGP) 2005-06 & 2006-07 for 928 Beneficiaries' has accused Thoubal District DC in-charge Ruhinikumar of doctoring list of selected beneficiaries of SEGP scheme in cohoot with some sub-ordinate officials and local politicians.
A statement of the JAC contended that names of 928 beneficiaries were already recommended by the District Level (SEGP) Screening Committee when P Vaiphei was the DC.
However, soon after the posting of Ruhinikumar as the DC in-charge a list of beneficiaries was issued anew, alleged the JAC while questioning how the new screening process was carried out without conforming to the SEGP guideline.
Charging that Ruhinikumar was involved in power misuse case in the past, the JAC further contended that the DC in-charge summoned the JAC's president Md Abdul Satar only to inform the latter that his (Abdul) name and other close functionaries would be included in the new list of beneficiaries.
Peeved at the DC in-charge's conduct, the JAC members sought a meeting with Ruhinikumar to discuss on the matter only to be denied access repeatedly, it disclosed.
While appealing to its members and individual concerned not to entertain any attempt to woo from the DC in-charge and asserting that the matter would be contested legally, the statement also cautioned the State authorities to address the issue in a positive manner before the same goes out of hand.
