Imphal, November 25:
AIIMS doctors looking after hunger striker Irom Chanu Shafmila had reportedly extracted signature from Sharmila's brother signifying that any complications arising out of the ongoing treatment would not be the responsibility of the AIIMS authorities.
The signature extraction assumes significance as Sharmila's condition deteriorated since yesterday morning with anti-AFSPA agitator refusing nose feeding even as doctors and nurses looking after her tried to convince her.
Talking to this report, Sharmila's brother Singhajit said upon his sister rejecting to resume nose feeding and his insistence to the medical personnel against forcible food supplement administration, the doctors asked for his signature to owe responsibility in case further health complication crops up.
The doctors, according to Singhajit, asked him who would take the responsibility if Sharmila continues to refuse nose feeding while at AIIMS thereby leaving him no option but to entertain the medical personnel's insistence.
Till late evening today, Sharmila refuses to be nose fed.
Her defiance to nasal feeding is informed to be in protest against her prolong detention without producing her before a court.
Meanwhile, Nobel Peace prize 2005 winner Shirinevadi of Iran will be meeting Sharmila Chanu at AIIMS tomorrow.
