In connection with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking which is to be observed world-wide on June 26, All Manipur Anti Drug Association (AMADA) which is fighting against the menace of drug abuse in Manipuri society today released a short film and a book of poems both titled 'Mikapthokpa' today.
Taking up the theme of drug abuse and its social implication, both the film and the book are produced by AMADA, and was released and dedicated to the people during a function at Kuki Inn, Imphal today.
Secretary to the Governor of Manipur RK Nimai, president of AMADA Head office L Tomba Meitei and Managing Director of Manipur Film Development Corporation K Subita graced the function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Former Secretary of Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) Ph Nandakumar, editor of Huyel Lanpao Brozendra Ningomba and film maker Ningthouja Lancha were also present at the dais as special invitees.
Chief guest RK Nimai and guest of honour K Subita released the short film and the poetry collection one after another respectively.
The 52-minute long short film was made under the direction of Ch Inaobi and the poems are written by James Kongbantabam, an activist of AMADA.
