In continued anti-alcohol/sub- stance abuse drive, Committee on Anti-Drug and Alcohol (CADA) along with volunteers of Thoubal District United Women�s Development Organisation and United People�s Administrative Council areas yesterday apprehended three persons including two women on charges of selling liquor during a drive at Thoubal.
According to a CADA release, the trio apprehended with liquor brewing utensils and materials are identified as Thongam Bina Devi (44) w/o (L) Th Achouba of Sekmaijin Thongam, Thoudam Lo-kendro (33) h/o Th Ibema of Sekmaijin Nungalkhong and Keisham (O) Sakhitombi (40) w/o (L) K Brojen of Sekmaijin Nungalkhong.
In another drive con-ducted with activists of UPF, Singjamei Local cou-ncil yesterday Kshetrima- yum Lalu (23) s/o (L) Ksh Basanta of Singjamei Wa-ngma Kongba Road, Lai- shram Sunamani (34) s/o (L) L Brajabidhu of Bheigya-bati Leikai and Chongtham Chandrakanta (22) s/o Ch Danachan of Singjamei Thongam Leikai were apprehended for anti-social activities.
All the six per-sons have been set free with a stern advice to abstain from alcohol/drug abuse habit, said a CADA release.
meanwhile, Sorokhai-bam Amarjit and Sorokhaib- am Boy alias Biramani of Kakwa Sorokhaibam Leikai are asked to surrender to CADA head office within December 11.The duo are charged of using derogatory language against UPF volunteers.
Amarjit is also accused of being an SP tablet abuser.
