The Indo-Myanmar Army Car Rally which was flagged off by the Union Defence Minister AK Antony on December 5 and 6 at Delhi will arrive at Manipur on December 11 and then proceed towards Myanmar through Moreh on December 12, said a statement issued by PIB Defence Wing today.
The team will reach Taukkyan War Cemetery at Yangon on December 16 and on the way back, the team will pass through Manipur on December 22.The GOC of 57 Mountain Division and IG Assam Rifles (South) have been entrus-ted to co-ordinate the smooth passage of the car rally in collaboration with the State authorities, said the statement.
The rally is being organised to honour the 20,000 soldiers of India and Myanmar who died in the World War II and is being led by Lt Col KS Chauhan consisting of 14 teams and 45 members including 12 Myanmar Army personnel, added PIB.
