Governor Gurbachan Jagat and Chief Minister O Ibobi have conveyed their greetings to all the people especially the Muslim brethren on the auspicious and joyous occasion of Id-ul-Fitre which is being celebrated tomorrow.
In his message, Governor Gurbachand Jagat said celebration of holy festival is the propagation of the message of peace, brotherhood and friendship which are the sustaining forces of securing peaceful co-existence in human society.
Wishing Id Mubarak, the Chief Minister said that Id-ul-Fitre marks the end of Ramzaan and it is a day of thanksgiving for the strength, discipline and piety earned through the month of fasting gone by.
On this day of rejoicing and festivities, the Chief Minister exhorted that we should not forget that the true spirit of Id-ul-Fitre is in contributing our mite towards the betterment of the poor and the deprived.
Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Dr S Budhichandra Singh and MLA of Wangoi Assembly Constituency Salam Joy Singh have also extended their Id-ul-Fitre greetings to the people.
IGAR (South) Maj Gen AK Choudhury, 3 Corps GOC Lt Gen RK Loomba, 57 Mountain Division GOC Maj Gen TS Handa and all ranks of Assam Rifles and Red Shield Division have also extended greeting to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Id-ul-Fitre.
Praying to the Almighty to keep a benign eye on the people of Manipur to bring about peace, prosperity and tranquillity in the days to come, the IGAR (South) wished all the Manipuris to prosper in all spheres and join hands towards achieving everlasting peace in the region.
BJP, Manipur Padesh; MSF, Manipur Forward Youth Front (MAFYF) heartiest have also extended their greetings to the people on the occasion of Id festival.
