Imphal, October 01:
DGP Yumnam Joykumar Singh today inaugurated the newly constructed administrative building of Central Motor Transport Workshop (CMTW) of Manipur Police during a function today.
Speaking after the inauguration of the building constructed behind the Pandon Khul of Imphal, the DGP observed that the importance of CMTW as a unit of the police organisation has always been felt.
Established on a modest footing in 1983, the workshop has today its own administrative building.
This is a great achievement, the DGP said, adding that the workshop had been set up to ensure that all the vehicles of the police organisation could be brought for repairing here and kept genuine spare parts so that there would no need for going to other automobile workshops for the same purpose.
Inspite of this, we have not been able to get the benefit as the officials of the unit who posted here from time to time were felt it like punishment posting, the DGP said, adding that officers in CID or NAB also felt their posting as punishment posting.
Such mindset is wrong.
Any officer should be ready to carry out their responsibility in any place of postings, he added.
IG (ADM) of State Police T Pachao presided over the function which was also attended by many top ranking officials.
