Conveying his heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti which is being observed tomorrow, Governor Gurbachand Jagat has called on the people to remember and follow the message of peace and non-violence propounded by Babupee.
In his message, the Governor said that the Nation has been observing 2nd October, birth day of Mahatma Gandhi, as National Cleanliness Day every year highlighting what Gandhijee wanted and also on the intrinsic ideas and significance of day.
In fact, cleanliness is highly essential for healthy living because, it protects us from various infectious diseases, the Governor said, adding that Gandhijee, who was a believer in the dignity of manual labour and simple living, underlined the great need for cleanliness and purification of mind which leads to the path of truth.
Truth is he begetter of love and peace, the Governor said.
He further said that while observing the day with cleansing of our homes, shops, premises, roads, drains and surrounding, all efforts have to be made for the purification of mind as well as to make the celebration meaningful.
Furthermore, we have to remember and follow Bapujee's message of peace, love, brotherhood, friendship and non-violence.
