Imphal, December 29 2009:
A guest house built at L Thinghanphai village in Chandel district was inaugurated by local MLA Thangkholun Haokip today.
The guest house was built from Backward Region Grant Front (BRGF) of 2007-08 .
The inaugural function was graced by MLA Thangkholun Haokip as chief guest and Chandel DC H Dilip as functional president.
Speaking at the occasion, Thangkholun Haokip said that district administration officials, who are at the helm of affairs at the district, should have a thorough knowledge about their districts.

Turning to the people, the MLA iterated that they should not just go on fault-finding and criticising district officials.
Rather they should go to the district officials regularly to learn about development programmes and welfare schemes so that these programmes can be implemented after thorough consultations.
DC H Dilip said that people of a district or an area should not wait for the Government to take up develop ment programmes in their area.
They should mobilised their capacity and show that their area /village has potential in such and such fields.
Once the potential are highlighted, Government would take up suitable schemes/programmes in the area.
The inaugural function also featured a musical programme where singers from Myanmar also took part.
