Along with a two-day long seminar, the 30th Archives Week celebration cum record exhibition has been inaugurated at the new building of State Central Library, Keishampat here today.
The event is being organised under the aegis if Manipur State Archives, Government of Manipur.
Former Minister of Education Yumnam Yaima Singh, Commissioner of Art and Culture P Bhorot Singh and Director of Art and Culture Dr Kh Sorojini attended the inaugural function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Senior citizen Ningthoujam Binoy Singh was also present at the occasion as a special guest of honour.
A two-day long seminar is being organised as part of the Archives Week celebration.
On the first day of the seminar today, president of Janata Party, Manipur unit Loitongbam Iboyaima Singh and lecturer of Political Science, GP Women's College A Hakim Shah Khullakpam presented papers as resource persons on the topics of 'The outcome of Manipur Assembly Election, 1948 and the political scenario after the election in formation of Government of Manipur' and 'The active role of Manipuri Muslims in the political scenario of Manipur in relation with the Manipur Assembly Election, 1948' respectively in the morning session.
In the afternoon session, B Kulachandra Sharma of Brahmapur Thangapat Mapal and Assistant Professor in History Depart, Manipur University Dr H Sudhir Singh respectively presented papers as resource persons on the topics of 'The political background of raja Samiti and their political achievement in the Manipur Assembly Election, 1948' and 'the political background of Socialist Party and their political achievement in the Manipur Assembly Election, 1948' .
Both the sessions were moderated by Prof N Joykumar Singh of History Department, MU.
On the second day of the seminar tomorrow, Padamshree RK Jhalajit and Nungleppam Shyamkanhai Singh of Uripok in the morning session and Usham Dhananjoy of Thangmeiband and Retd Lt Col H Bhuban Singh in the evening session would present papers as resource persons.
