Appreciating the joint declaration of UNLF, KYKL and PREPAK to intensify anti-narcotics/alcohol campaign, the proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has iterated that preventing today's youth from drowning in psychedelic drugs and wanton consumption of alcohol and tobacco products has become indispensable to save the future of Manipur.
Recounting that campaign against sale or use of Indian Made Foreign Liquor was launched since 1991 after which the outfit formed STAFORCE in 1998 to enforce ban on tobacco products and other harmful narcotic substances, the RPF in a statement issued by its assistant secretary, communication and publicity Lily Leima reiterated that the preventive measure was launched to nullify India's policy of luring the Manipuri youths into habitual drug/alcohol user which is a direct intention to weaken the revolutionary movement.
Appreciating the public support in carrying out the anti-drug campaign, the RPF expressed confidence that once the ills of drug/alcohol/substance abuse is addressed policy of adversary forces to smash the backbone (youths) of the Manipuri society would be reduced to nought.
Highlighting that during RPF's campaign warning were served and the recalcitrant offenders punished with varying degree, the statement nevertheless cautioned all concerned to take utmost care when offenders are disciplined insisting that punishment should commensurate degree of offence committed.
