Zeliangrong Studuents' Union Manipur (ZSUM) has conducted a thorough survey regarding the administrative works concerning to medical, power supply and National Rural Service Generating Programmes (NRSGP) in Tamenglong district.
The ZSUM in a statement said that many health centres in Tamenglong district are found in a delipated state without infrastructure and some of the primary health centres are found to be non-functional adding 'there is no medical superintendent to look after the district hospital for management.
" Since there is no X-ray technician and superintendant, ZSUM demanded immediate redressal of the issue in the interest of the people", it said.
Categorically pointing out the medical centre apathy, the Zeliangrong Students Union said that the Tamei Community Health Centre (CHC) does not have proper medical equipment and quarters for doctors and nurses are non existence, besides immunisation and AIDS awareness programme are not work out by the concern district officer.
On the power supply (electricity connectivity), the ZSU appeals the power department to finish the work for installation of 33/11 KV sub-station at Tamei, Rengpang and Tousem before Christmas this year.
Cautioning the implementation of National Rural Service Generating Programme (NRSGP) under five years plan in Tamenglong district, ZSUM urged the Village authority to do justice for smooth implementation of the programme.
"If any village is found insincere that particular village will be completly put off from the programme", said the ZSUM signed by it finance secretary Pantijai Newmai.
Meanwhile, ZSUM chairman, James Dangmei added that the Public Health Centre (PHC) of Houchong is in a defunct state, the Noney PHC is functioning without the Medical Officer (MO) and a male health worker since months also, in Awangkhul PHC one nurse has never attended the health centre.
"untill the negotiation is arrived for this particulars their pay will be held up", he warned.
