With the objective of ushering in quality education, DESAM and Komrem Development Organisation (KREDO) have started inspecting the infrastructural requirements in Govt schools at Pallel area in Chandel district.
It is said that report of the inspection would be forwarded to the Govt and other authorities concerned for taking up necessary remedial measures.
The six-member inspection team led jointly by president of KREDO MS Panther and deputy secretary (education) of DESAM A Thoithoi began its mission along with inspecting the existing condition and infrastructures in the Govt schools in Pallel area.
The inspection team came across that with exception to Aimol Khullen Govt Primary School and Aimol Unapal Govt Primary School, the rest of the Govt schools in the area do not have either sufficient teachers or students.
So most of the schools were found locked.
However, the inspection team did not failed to notice lack of proper infrastructures like toilet, water tank, furniture and fencing at Aimol Khullen Govt Primary School and Aimol Unapal Govt PS.
The team found 7 teachers taking regular classes at Aimol Khullen Govt PS which has 79 students while two teachers taking classes at Aimol Unapal Govt PS which has 55 students.
Even if the Primary School at Aimol Tampak is an aided school, the inspection team came across that five teachers including two approved teachers taking regular classes for 55 students of the school.
Nonetheless, the authority of the school reported to the visiting team about the problems related to lack of toilet facility and other needs.
Surprisingly, at Aimol Chingnunghut Junior High School, the inspection team learnt that 18 teachers have been drawing their monthly salary freely as there is no student in the school.
It is said that the school also remains under lock and key most of the time and the teachers make it a point to come to the school only on the day of drawing of the lot (Marup Sanaba).
