2 killed, many hurt in CCpur mishap

Injured persons of a road mishap being attended at CCpur District HospitalLamka, Mar 14: Five days after a road mishap killed a woman and injured several others near Pearsonmun village, a fully packed taxi today met a similar fate at a location adjacent to the earlier mishap.
Records at the district hospital here, where the injured are treated show that twenty people were administered treatment, two of whom later succumbed to the injuries with at least a dozen of them being admitted in three wards.
The taxi carrying passengers, who were home bound after attending a conference of the United Pentecostal Church (NEI) at Songpi village met with the accident at around 3.15pm, sources involved in the rescue exercise said.
Among those admitted at the hospital, the condition of two people with head injuries are said to be critical while another with a case of low blood pressure was referred to Imphal.

Meanwhile, an orthopaedic doctor of the district hospital here Dr Shyamsunder met with an accident which rendered him unconscious around the time of the mishap here at Ningthoukhong, said a source.
He is being treated at Imphal hospital, added the source and added that the doctor was heading for Churachandpur when his vehicle collided with another at around 3.30pm.
