Accelerates ongoing black-topping work on NH-39 : NPO

Imphal, March 14 2011:
While acknowledging the sincere efforts of the Central Government to improve the NH-39, the Naga People's Organization (NPO) today appealed to the implementing Department or agency to accelerate the ongoing black-topping of the NH-39 in Senapati District.
A statment of the NPO signed by its president M Dili further appealed to all the concerned revolutionary organizations to exempt taxes and collections or demands but to collectively develop and improve NH-39 in the District.
The NPO demanded the concerned Officials and Contractors to maintain high quality and complete the said works before the arrival of the monsoon season.
The said Highway as the only lifeline of the State being severely neglected in the past years, whereby the District Student's body has been unceasingly fighting for improvement of the same since many years.
In the recent months, with installation of workers, machinery, stone crushers, hot mix plants at Karong and Khongnem, certain progress in the works were visible, but on slower pace.
The NPO in the public interest, also appeals before the Revolutionary groups/individuals/groups operating in Senapati District to abstain from any form of taxations or collections so as to facilitate better and quality execution of the ongoing NH-39 works.
As such activities will only create obstacles for better transport and communication system in the District.
For which, seeking the co-operation of all the concerned esteemed Organizations/Groups, the NPO appeals for smooth implementation of the work without any further delay and hindrances, the statement added.
