In tune with meeting the target of improving the condition of the existing National Highways and completing laying of the proposed railway line to Imphal within the stipulated period of the forthcoming 11th Five Year Plan, the State Government is set to take up the said topics for discussion during the meeting of the Working Groups scheduled to be held at New Delhi tomorrow.
Conveying this to The Sangai Express, an official source informed that Chief Secretary Jarnail Singh has left Imphal for New Delhi today to take part in the meeting of the Working Group of the North Eastern States to discuss the development works to be taken up during the 11th Five Year Plan.
The meeting of the Working Group with Secretary in the Ministry of DONER as chairman and Chief Secretaries of the States concerned as members has been convened ahead of the 11th Five Year Plan which will come into effect from April 1, 2007 to finalise the works to be taken up, the source added.
Improving the condition of the existing National Highways and completing laying of the proposed rail line to Imphal are some of the main targets of the State Government during the 11th Five Year Plan and the same would be tabled for discussion in the meeting, the source said.
Further infrastructural developments and proper implementation of the projects and schemes within the stipulated period are also some of the issues that would be feature prominently during the meeting, the source further said.
