To promote understanding and co-ordinate the students of the five hill districts of the State, a "Hills Students' Co-ordination Committee" was formed today during a meeting held at MBC Hotel.
Informing this, a statement issued by the Committee said that the meeting resolved to form the Co-ordination Committee after a long discussion with regard to the present problems faced by the hill people.
Representatives of the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong, Senapati District Students' Association, Churachandpur District Students' Union, Zeliangrong Students' Union, Naga Students' Union, Chandel and Sadar Hills Youth Organisation were present at the meeting, said the statement.
Four officer bearers were appointed besides eight members of the Co-ordination Committee.
The four office bearers include Wilubou Newmai as the chairman, Songthinpau of CDSU as the co-chairman, Vareishing Zingkhai of the TKS as secretary and James Dibung of NSUC as thew joint secretary, added the statement.
